Kitten with no back feet gets happy ending

SweetPea is a kitten that was born with no back feet and missing half her tail. However, she managed to beat the odds because although she wound up in a high-kill animal shelter, she now has a wonderful forever home! A worker at Cumberland County Animal Control Center saw Sweetpea and contacted Blind Cat Rescue & Sanctuary Inc., who couldn’t help but fall in love with the kitten immediately. On Wednesday she came to live with the rescue permanently.
Although it is a bit of a mystery, the vet feels that the bottom of Sweetpea’s legs were crushed in utero from the umbilical cord getting wrapped around her legs and cutting off the circulation. She also has osteomyelitis (a bone infection) and a fractured femar. However, other than that she is doing well. Despite her physical limitations, Sweetpea has no problem getting around and plays like any other six weeks old kitten.
